Richard L. Harper, 82, of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

     A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at MD’s Bar and Grill, 7719 North University Street, in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Richard’s memory to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

     Richard was born on March 30, 1936, in Wood River, the son of Ralph and Vivian (Miller) Harper. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his sister, Brenda Harper.

     He married Bonnie Kirsch and through that union, he has two children, Jason Harper of Peoria and Melisa Harper-Gibb of Marquette Heights. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brandin and Bradie Gibb and Collin and Brooklynn Harper.

     Richard was a Teamster for the City of Peoria. He retired in 1998 after 32 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 627 and Teamsters Retirees’ Club.

     Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
